Based in Cardiff, The Keith Little Band has been called “Wales’ Premier Jazz & Swing Band” by media and musicians alike. The band gains much of it’s inspiration from the music and arrangements of Benny Goodman, Fats Waller, Duke Ellington Count Basie, Sonny Rollins and others. The wide ranging repertoire of this lively six-piece also includes hot Jump and jive numbers after the styles of Louis Jordan and Louis Prima.
16.30pm - Swing
Dutchman Tim Kliphuis ranks among the worlds finest jazz violinists. He has often been named the successor of Stephane Grappelli, taking his legacy into the 21st century by infusing Gypsy Jazz with Folk and Classical music. Tim appears at many worldwide venues ranging from jazz clubs to classical concert halls.
18.30pm - Grace & Danger
Popular band on the Gwent music scene made up of local musicians covering the music of the legendary John Martyn. The music is considered to be a mix of Jazz – Folk – Blues – Fusion and Rock, a little bit for everyone.
20.30pm - Andy Davies
Andy Davies has been described as ‘one of the most sensitive and creative trumpeters to emerge on the British jazz scene in recent years’ whose ‘strength is his ability to marry a first-class technique and marvellously clear tone with elegant, emotive phrasing. His compositional style has been called ‘classy, melodic music with unexpected twists’.
