Albino Frogs12.15pm - Albino Frogs
Their songs cover rock, jazz and folk styles, arranged with a latin vibe, with a couple of country tunes just for good measure. Whatever your musical interest, the Albino Frogs are sure to entertain!
Jigsaw14.15pm - Jigsaw
Jigsaw is a South Wales based trio combining the idioms of jazz with an uncompromising energy and grace, making their music not easy to define. Their material explores interesting melodic and rhythmic shifts within a landscape ranging from dark intensity through to bright, open soundscapes. Jigsaw’s strength is their creative approach to rhythm while maintaining strong melodic interplay between guitar, bass and drums.
Ann Duggan Band16.15pm - Annie Duggan
For the past 10 years Ann Duggan has slowly but surely been building a sizeable following on the UK music scene. The band, comprising long standing guitarist Rob Hines, bass player Callum Mullins, and Leicestershire’s drumming legend Gordon Taylor, came together in May 2001. The past few years have seen a packed diary of playing to clubs, festivals, and private and corporate events alike.
Top Shelf Jazz18.15pm - Top Shelf Jazz
Jazz as it used to be – fast and louche! Delicious echoes of Al Bowlly and Fats Waller with a dangerous hint of Gypsy Swing rolled into one hot menagerie of crooning, tap dance, old-world suave, rakish banter and correspondent shoes.
Ashley John Long Trio20.45pm - Ashley John Long Trio
For many, one of the highlights of last year’s festival, Griffithstown’s Ashley played an absorbing, unrehearsed and spontaneous set. It’s one to look forward to for the quality of playing and a real variation on the standard jazz approach.
