In 2006, a group of enthusiasts with diverse tastes in music, who met at jazz gigs throughout the area, decided to get together and play 'old style music'.  Not necessarily 'Traditional Jazz', the emphasis being 'Happy Jazz'.  From this weekly workshop, mentored by Martin Butterworth, emerged 'The Workhouse Jazz Band'.

5 Go Swing draw their inspiration from the beauty and passion of Gypsy Jazz. Formed in Cardiff in 2004, they have quickly left their mark on the local jazz scene, thrilling audiences with an irresistible mix of beautiful melodies combined with compelling dynamic and rhythmic variety.
