The Greater Gwent Youth Jazz Orchestra comprise of students from Torfaen, Blaenau Gwent, Monmouthshire and Newport. The band have worked alongside some of the UK’s top professional jazz musicians including Alan Barnes, Jim Mullen, Dave O Higgins, Michael Garrick and recently the amazing Percy Pursglove. They have performed at some of the UK’s finest concert halls including The Queen Elizabeth Hall, St Davids Hall , The Sir Adrian Boult Hall and the Sage. Their music director is Paul Hornsby.
